OUR Chester FC reporter Dave Powell caught up with Blues chairman Simon Olorenshaw this week.

Attendances, annual losses, off-the-field appointments... it was an interesting chat.

You can read more HERE - with Olorenshaw's thoughts on the job manager Jon McCarthy is doing to follow in the morning.

Back in the Hunt

Johnny Hunt, by his own admission, was not at his best in his debut campaign at Chester.

But the left-back, with some justification, believes his performances have improved this season.

And he has put the summer arrival of Evan Horwood as a big reason for that. You can read more HERE.

Young guns get Fleetwood

Chester's young guns have been drawn at home to League One's Fleetwood Town in the FA Youth Cup first round.

The clash, which must be played before November 5, is reward for Calum McIntyre's side's 8-0 victory at Newcastle Benfield in the third qualifying round.

Blues head coach McIntyre told the club's official website: "We wanted to face a League side and we've got what we wanted really.

"None of the Football League sides in this competition will have wanted to come to Chester. We have the belief in our group that we can win this game.

"There'll be some crowd in. It's going to be a great night for us. We'll be ready for Fleetwood, that's for sure."

Former Players AGM

Chester FC Former Players Association will hold their annual general meeting on Monday, November 7 at the Cheshire View, Plough Lane, Christleton, starting at 7.30pm.

All former players who are members of the association are welcome to attend.
