DAVID Radlovic has quit BiG Storage Cheshire Jets without even playing a game for the club.

The 25-year-old Bosnian-Canadian's signing was announced last month but he failed to join up with his new team-mates this week, citing a change in his 'personal circumstances' that would have ruled him out of the BBL opener at Plymouth on September 21.

Jets coach TJ Walker, however, has moved quickly to bring in a replacement, signing 24-year-old Chris Brown this week.

Jets director of basketball Paul Smith said: 'TJ has been scouting for recruits for the squad in the States throughout the summer.

'When it became clear that David would not be able to join us, he was able to sign up an alternative player capable of replacing him. That is the advantage of having someone there on the spot.'

Brown, a 6ft 7in forward, graduated from Chattanooga College in Tennessee before joining Bayer Giants Leverkusen in the German Bundesliga. He then turned out for Basket Esch of Luxembourg, where he averaged 25 points, 13 rebounds and three assists per game.

He has recently been playing in the ABA for the Tennessee Mud Frogs, averaging 25 points, 10 rebounds and five assists per game.

Coach Walker said: 'We are delighted to have signed up Chris, he has excellent size, athleticism and skills.

'He fits the pattern which the Jets team will play this season and we expect him to make a major impact on the league.'
