THE Jets will line up in a 13-team championship next season.

Only 10 teams competed in last year's British Basketball League, but three new ones will join the 2007-08 campaign - Birmingham Panthers, Everton Tigers and PAWS London Capital.

Clubs will play each other three times in the season, resulting in a 36-game campaign for each team. They will meet each counterpart once at home, once away and once home or away.

The post-season BBL championship play-offs remain the same, as the top eight teams qualify, with the top four sides gaining home advantage in the quarter-finals. Games are decided on a one-off knockout format.

The BBL Cup also retains the same format, except for the entry of the three new teams.

In the BBL Trophy, teams have been split into four groups, with the Jets drawn in Group One alongside Leicester Riders, Milton Keynes Lions and Plymouth Raiders.

The team that finishes top of each group will progress to the semi-finals.

* The BBL championship tips-off in September. Fixtures are due to be announced next week.
