TCS Chester Jets' four-year grip on the BBL Trophy was loosened on Wednesday when they lost 92-91 in overtime at Sheffield Sharks in their first group game.

After the Sharks had led for most of regulation time Jets' Shawn Myers capped a late comeback for the visitors with a three-pointer with 17 seconds remaining to force the extra period.

Once in overtime a late Rob Yanders three gave Sharks a crucial 92-89 advantage inside the final minute and Jets could manage only a DJ Harrison two as time elapsed.

New signing Harrison scored a game-high 30 points for Jets who were without injured skipper Calvin Davis.

They bid to bounce back in the Trophy at Leicester Riders on Saturday and on Sunday resume league action against newcomers Plymouth Raiders at the Northgate Arena (5.30pm).
