JETS have missed out on the chance to come face-to-face with NBA legend Dennis Rodman.

Brighton Bears were keen to re-sign the 44-year-old former Chicago Bulls star for their home matches against Newcastle Eagles and Chester later this month after his debut appearance for them on Saturday pulled in a 1,600 capacity crowd.

Fresh from featuring in the reality game show Celebrity Big Brother, Rodman played 26 minutes and scored four points as the Bears beat Guildford Heat 91-88 in a BBL Championship clash.

But although Brighton this week struck a deal to bring the five-time NBA title-winner back to the south coast, he will not be facing the Jets.

Rather than penning a two-match contract, Rodman has instead agreed to return for just one game - the Valentine's Day home clash with Newcastle, meaning he will not be available for the February 18 meeting with Chester.
