CERTAINLY, we have had one of our best weekends this season, beating The Towers (London) and The Lions (Milton Keynes), which has given us a welcome boost following our three successive defeats.

Last weekend's run has given us a lot of confidence to face Leicester this evening and Birmingham on Sunday. We are now looking to build up our points and keep up with the leading pack, so the next two games will be very important for us. The Leicester encounter on Friday is a crucial tie, we know it is going to be a must-win game for Leicester. They are on a bit of a losing streak and will be looking to pick themselves up, and that's dangerous.

For both the Leicester and Birmingham games, we will be focusing on what we are about and not on the other teams. We will try and impose our style of play. We know both teams will put us under pressure from the offset but we will concentrate on keeping the ball.

I think it will be a close game on Friday - it will be a fast, attacking game and will be a big test. Everyone is trying to stay up with Sheffield at the moment. They have had a great start and we are certainly looking to keep up, so we do we need three or four good wins to stay in touch. Only time will tell!

I am delighted that John McCord has been nominated as BBL player of the month for October. He has played consistently well and plays both ends, gets back in defence as well as scores and attacks with great energy. He is so fast he is always at both ends of the court! He has undoubtedly been one of our best players this season. The excellent form of John McCord is certainly on the mind of Leicester Coach Billy Mimms who sees the Jets Captain as posing their biggest threats this evening. He said: 'There are some guys coaches can't stop. If you look at the NBA a few years ago, they didn't try and stop Michael Jordan. You don't focus on a great player like that because you are not going to stop them.

'You can spend so much time focusing on that player and they still get their 25, but you let three other guys kill you as well. I think people look at the Chester Jets and they focus so much on John that other players on the Jets team tend to beat you while John still does his normal damage.'
