AS the senior sides found their games postponed due to travel problems caused by the cold weather in the EBL National League, the Cheshire Jets boys under 16s played out a close game at Leicester Warriors.

The Chester outfit managed to finish on the high side, winning 67-65.

They are also through to the quarter-finals of the Sureshot National Cup after seeing off Sefton Stars 109-65.

It was not such a good weekend for the Jets boys U16s 2nds, who suffered a narrow defeat at the hands of Preston Pride.

It finished 76-71 and was the Jets’ fifth loss in nine games.

Coming just before the Christmas break they were left frustrated, knowing they will be kicking their heels until January 9 before they can bounce back.

In the U15s division, the Jets boys suffered a 120-28 loss at Trafford at the Amaechi Basketball Centre in Manchester.

In the same division the Jets 2nds continued their powerful form this season as they ran the rule over Oldham Titans.

The Greater Manchester side went down 110-38 to the Jets.

In a derby match the Cheshire Junior Jets defeated the Cheshire Jets 93-53 in the boys U14s division.

Cheshire Jets U18s men have reached the quarter-finals of the Sureshot National Cup after defeating Newcastle Eagles 75-69.
