JETS' John McCord has been nominated for the BBL Player of the Month award following his outstanding run of form.
Shortlists for the BBL Player and Coach of the Month awards for October 2003 were announced by the British Basketball League.
Five players and four coaches have been nominated for the first set of awards of the 2003/04 season, selected on their statistical merit during the month of October 2003. The winners will be selected via fans votes on the BBL website at www.bbl.org.uk
The shortlist for the BBL Player of the Month award for October 2003 is: John McCord TCS Chester Jets Jerry Williams Scottish Phoenix Honda Re-cord Rocks DeRon Rutledge Birmingham Bullets Lynard Stewart Westfield Sharks Sheffield TJ Walker Newcastle Eagles
Both positive and negative statistics have been taken into account in selecting these players and the nominations reflect games in the BBL Championship and BBL Cup competitions. All five players are established BBL stars, having played in the BBL for at least a season prior to this campaign.
The winners of both awards are to be announced this morning.
