TCS Chester Jets chalked up another weekend double to retain their grip on the BBL Trophy and go joint top of the BBL.

They were always the better side on Friday when they beat Sheffield Sharks 81-71 in their third Trophy group match and on Saturday they beat Birmingham bullets 83-72.

After a tight opening three quarters the Jets finally broke the Birmingham's dogged resistance with Shawn Myers making two three-pointers in an 8-0 run to take the score out to 61-70 - a lead the Bullets found unassailable. Former Bullets' point guard Trey Moore led all scorers with 28 points for the Jets.

Also worth a mention is young Englishman Richard Murphy who notched up his season-high 12 points, all from beyond the arc.

Jets victory came despite the continued absence of star centre Calvin Davis who has had knee surgery.
