CHESTER Jets closed the gap on BBL leaders Sheffield Sharks with two weekend victories.

They stormed to a 107-88 win over Scottish Rocks in Glasgow on Saturday while the Sharks were suffering a rare defeat.

And on Sunday night, despite returning from Scotland in the early hours on the morning, completed a double by beating lowly Leicester Riders 105-96 at the Northgate Arena.

It wasn't a vintage Jets performance and the Riders made them fight all the way for the points, but they were never headed even though Leicester managed to draw level in the third quarter.

Jets enjoyed a 21-20 lead after the opening quarter, but the visitors closed to trail by only four points at half time. The Riders were still in contention at the end of the third quarter with Jets leading 82-76, but Jets managed to pull away to a nine-point advantage by the final buzzer.

Chester's Kenny Gregory led all scored with 30 points.
