CHESTER Jets are determined to return to winning ways in tonight's game against London United at Northgate Arena.

BBL new boys London lost twice at the weekend - at home to Sheffield Sharks on Saturday and at Plymouth Raiders in the BBL Cup 24 hours later. But after three defeats on the bounce, Jets are in need of a change of fortune too.

Jets' head coach Billy Singleton said: 'I don't know much about London United. I haven't seen them this season, but they have a good coach and good players so it won't be easy for us - far from it.'

Chester's final summer signing, Maurice Hargrow, finally joined up with the team last week.

Although he seems to be settling in, Singleton says he has been doing extra work to try to make his new-look team gel.

'Maurice individually had a great debut against Guildford, he was second top points-scorer for us,' said the Jets' head coach. 'But it isn't an individual game. We have six players who are totally new to this league and we all need to get it together and learn each others game so we can get the best out of each other.

'Players won't win matches on their own, but the understandings we need to develop will come with time.

'We need to put things down on in training which will get us working together and we are doing that.'

Against Guildford last Friday, Jets lost 90-72 after the tip-off was delayed for an hour-and-a-half due to the visitors being caught in traffic on the way to Chester.

Hargrow scored 16 points on his debut, beaten only by fellow summer signing Alto Virgil with 17.

Jets' misery deepened on Saturday when they lost 74-65 at Plymouth Raiders. Jaz Cowan was Jets' top scorer with 16 points.

'Three defeats in a row is not great but I am confident we can bounce back with the quality we have and we can start this weekend,' added Singleton.

Tip-off tonight is 7.30pm.
