THE Jets head into tonight’s BBL Trophy semi-final second-leg showdown with MK Lions at the Northgate Arena (5.30pm) in the rudest of health.

Paul Smith’s side – who lost the first leg in Milton Keynes 80-79 – boosted their hopes of a top-three finish in the BBL Championship with a stunning success at the third-placed Rocks on Friday night.

The victory and performance that accompanied it was arguably the Jets’ best of the season so far as they dominated their shell-shocked Scottish hosts from start to finish.

The prolific Chez Marks fired four three-pointers on his way a game-high 24-point haul while Shawn Myers (19) and the on-fire Colin O’Reilly (15) also did serious damage.

The visitors – who shot 11 of 25 from beyond the arc – won the opening quarter 25-16 and the second 18-15 to take a 12-point advantage into the second half.

The match was still tight at 50-43 midway through the third quarter before the Jets put together a superb 18-2 run up to the end of the period which featured three-pointers from Paul Peterson, Calvin Davis and Myers – and which made the final passage of play academic.
