JETS saw their play-off dreams go up smoke at Northgate Arena on Friday.

They went into the game knowing nothing less than a win would do, but

were unable to overcome the Heat, who wrapped up the championship by beating London United 48 hours later.

Jets took a 30-22 first quarter lead, but the Heat regrouped in the second and had raced into a 52-38 lead by half-time.

The visitors extended their advantage to 62-42 early in the third quarter, but soon found themselves pegged back by a 9-2 burst from the hosts. However, that would be as close as the Jets would come in the remainder of the game.

The Heat settled it with eight unanswered points to open the fourth and Jets' misery was compounded when Louis McCullough fouled out with six minutes remaining.

Only time will tell whether this will prove to be Chester's last ever game.
