THE UK-wide lockdown caused by the wintry conditions has left two of the Cheshire Jets US import players struggling to get back to their families for Christmas.
Guard Jeremy Bell is trying to fly back to Arkansas for the festive season and Matt Schneck, in his first season as a professional outside the States, had his flight to Wisconsin cancelled on Monday and is hoping to fly out on Christmas Eve.
Schneck, who has recently discovered he will be banned until Febrtuary 18 after unknowingly taking a banned stimulant, and Bell, who has been hitting some big points of late, are both due to return to the UK on January 2 when Bell will resume training with the Jets and Schneck will continue to work on his fitness away from the squad until his ban is complete.
In his blog at www.steakandschrem pf.com Schneck posted: “I’ve been left enough time to breaststroke my way home across the Atlantic. Unfortunately I can barely doggy-paddle.
“My fifth thanksgiving away from home was trying enough, but to miss the pre-Christmas build-up makes me feel like I'm in some whack European Home Alone remake.”
