WHILE the Cheshire Jets can focus solely on the first leg of their BBL Cup semi-final, opponents Sheffield Sharks have a home game tomorrow in the BBL Championship against Glasgow Rocks before they arrive at the Northgate Arena.

But Sharks player-coach Atiba Lyons is not worried about what awaits his side in Chester.

“It’ll be the third time we’ve played them in less than four weeks,” he said.

“We know each others’ strengths, and whoever executes the best will win the game.

“If Matt Schneck isn’t playing, it’ll be down to Quemont Greer and Jeremy Bell to lead them.

“Colin O’Reilly is another guy who makes the plays and finds the open man – you can’t afford to take your eye off him.”

The Sharks’ Canadian forward Mike Tuck is fully focused on retaining the BBL Cup this season and sees Sunday’s match – a replay of last year’s final – as one of the biggest games of their season.

“We’re really focused right now on getting past Cheshire so we can defend the cup,” said Tuck.

“Beating the Jets in the Championship a couple of weeks ago was important for us because they’re a really solid team with good players.

“But we’re sharing the ball well and on any given night six or seven guys can step up and take over to lead us and that gives us depth.”
