Glasgow Rocks produced a dominant display to beat the Cheshire Phoenix and close the gap on fourth place in the BBL Championship.

Donald Robinson led all scorers with 30 points while the Phoenix were led by 26 points from Chez Marks.

The Rocks came out quickly with the first six points, including five for Robinson as he opened proceedings with a three-pointer, and his team would never trail.

The Phoenix, coached by Mike Burton, did hit back to tie the game at eight with Shawn Myers' fourth point of the game but despite the veteran's efforts the Rocks remained in the lead.

Cheshire Phoenix were without the services of Gabe Haskins after the point guard damaged some torso muscles in training but they could call upon the services of Stuart Thompson, who signed from Manchester Giants late last week.

But at the Emirates Arena the Rocks, in front of the Sky TV cameras, surged on and took the advantage, with only Chez Marks keeping the visitors in touch 43-37 behind at half time.

Robinson and player-coach Sterling Davis switched gears in the third period and put the game out of reach, taking a 62-48 lead into the fourth. Not even a late push form the Phoenix could salvage the game as they saw the points slip away.
