STRONG performances by Jets’ junior sides resulted in league victories.

The boys under 14s got 2009 off to a flying start with a 105-46 home win against Stockport Falcons on Saturday.

All 12 squad players had court time and all got on the scoresheet. Lead scorer was captain Jack Griffiths with 18 points.

The next day the U15s took on Everton away at Toxteth and won 81-62. Jack Griffiths stepped up to the older squad and top-scored again with 20.

The U16s had two games at the weekend. In the league they took on Northants Thunder away on Saturday, winning 74-56. But disappointingly, on Sunday against Manchester Magic, they fell to a 68-53 cup defeat.

The U18s got things back on track with a 120-47 win over Barrow Thorns at Cheshire Oaks High.

Jets’ U16 girls lost away to Manchester Magic 64-35. Jo Bunbrey top scored for the Jets with 10 with Abi O’Brien and Michaela Johnson both claiming eight.

Jets’ women’s team tallied up another away win, this time against Northumbria (69-60). Aleanna Reddy led the way with 21, followed by Amy Bowen with 19 and Jen Trowler with eight.
