JETS’ juniors celebrated championship success at the weekend.
The club’s under 14s boys team, unbeaten all season, won the title with two games of the season to go.
They were too good for Manchester Magic, beating them 92-65.
In a busy weekend for all Jets teams, their women’s side had a mixed weekend.
They opened up with a 101-33 away win over Sheffield Hallam Hatters, but then went down 84-26 to local rivals Stockport Lawpings on Sunday.
It was also a big weekend for Jets’ U15s, who beat Newcastle Eagles 105-44 in the first round of the play offs on Saturday. They now face Leicester in the second round.
A strong second-half fightback saw Jets’ U18s team win 101-83 at Derby.
Neil Gillard led the way with 26 points and five other players hit double figures, including Mike Hinchliffe (21) and Jason Helsby (14).
The U18s’ second team went down 66-37 at Preston.
Jets’ U16s team hosted Sheffield Juniors at their Stanney Oaks base in Ellesmere Port and fell to a 95-66 defeat.
There was also disappointment for Jets’ U16 girls’ team, who were edged out 40-38 in a close home match against Manchester Mystics.
Top scorers for Jets were Claire Perry (25), Abbey O’Brian (eight) and Zoe Brunton (four).
