As preparations for the forthcoming BBL Championship campaign gather pace, the Cheshire Phoenix have completed another signing.

Dominique Coleman, a 6ft 4ins shooting guard/small forward from San Diego, California, turned out for Twin City United in the Lone Star Conference of the American Basketball League last season.

As a starting five member, he helped his team to second in the conference.

Having studied and played at the University of West Alabama before graduating from Francis Marion College two years ago, Coleman is now heading for Cheshire to bolster head coach John Lavery’s Phoenix squad.

He joins forwards Yannick Crowder and Calvin Clemmons, veteran Shawn Myers and livewire Chris Pearce in Lavery’s 2013/14 side.

“Versatility is very useful and Dominique is adept on the wing or at the top,” said Lavery. “He gives us options and will allow us to change our style on the fly.

“The squad is beginning to come together and we are building a blend of youth and experience that I believe will make us a force to be reckoned with in the BBL Championship this season.”
