JETS’ junior sides continue to perform strongly but there was disappointment for the women’s side and the under 16 and U18 boys.
The Jets women’s squad struggled when they took on Manchester Mystics at home, losing 90-29.
The boys U16s also experienced defeat on Saturday, but bounced back with a victory on Sunday.
They lost to Manchester Magic at the Amaechi Centre with a final score of 94-40. But they came back into form on Sunday when they made it through to the second round of the Sureshot National Cup with an impressive 105-65 win over Preston Pride (Jordan Smith 20, Jack Griffiths 17, Kyle Squires 14).
The U18s also had two games and lost the first to Birmingham 95-87 (Alex Moore 19, Jason Helsby 14, Niel Gillard 13).
The squad picked themselves up and went on to beat Preston Pride in the cup 113-49 (Daniel Pilkington, Sam Craige 22, James Banks 19). Neil Gillard also made a triple double with 16 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists.
The U13s enjoyed an 83-59 win against Barrow (Jake Cooke 38, Isaac Nixon 19, Alex Jones 14).
Jets’ U14 girls had back to back wins, beating Barrow Thorns 76-26 (Claudia Galan 22) and Manchester Mystics 43-30.
The U16s battered Gateshead 134-32 (Zoe Brunton 34, Claire Perry 33, Abbey O’Brian 18).
