VETERAN Shawn Myers hit his stride at just the right time as the Cheshire Jets blasted MK Lions out of the water in the BBL Trophy last night to reach their second final of the season, against Newcastle Eagles in Guildford on Sunday.

Trailing by one point from the first leg of the semi-final, the Jets came out on fire, winning 102-68 and bagging a 179-146 aggregate win.

In stark contrast to the first game, where the Jets trailed 22-8 in the first period, they hit the ground running, opening up a 34-16 lead at the Northgate Arena.

This proved too much for the Lions to claw back as they trailed for the rest of the game, unable to find the change in pace and intensity to match the determined Jets.

From the end of the opening quarter, the Jets never looked back and by the end of the third they led 76-50, thanks in part to a 21-point haul from Myers and 20 from Paul Peterson with Jerrah Young also stepping up with 17.

An easy victory was completed as the Jets outscored the visitors 26-18 in the final 10 minutes to win 102-68.
