IT was a bumper weekend of basketball for the Cheshire Jets junior section with five matches taking place home and away.
The club’s Under 16s boys team made the short trip to Manchester to take on Trafford at the Amaechi Centre based at Whalley Range High School.
After a close-fought battle, the Jets were just edged out 63-61.
But it was a different story for Jets U14s boys as they won their home clash with Manchester Magic 71-67 after a tense final three quarters.
Top scorers were Lewis Haplin with 36 points and Cameron McKay with 22.
Sunday saw the Jets’ U18s men’s side miss out in the fourth quarter by a disappointing five points after travelling to Sheffield to face the Sharks.
Following a great start to the season, Jets U16s girls team impressed again with a massive victory at Bury Blue Devils.
The final score was 119-27 to the visitors with Clare Perry (52), Abi O’Brien (23) and Michaela Johnson (18) scoring the lion’s share of the points.
Jets U15s boys took on North West rivals Stockport Falcons and secured a superb 89-point win, with the score at the final buzzer being 138-49.
The Jets’ U13s boys team played well against Manchester Magic at the Amaechi Centre, but just went down 58-51.
