REIGNING British Superkarts champion Dan Edwards has bounced back from a testing start to the season.

Edwards took a double race victory in his return to Snetterton, a result which should not be a surprise given his excellent form at the Norfolk circuit.

The four-time previous winner of the event – once at 125cc and three times in the 125 open, was eyeing victory not just in the 125 open class but also the MSA British Superkart Grand Prix.

Edwards took victory in the first 125 open race and finished runner-up in the second. However, he was classified second overall as rival Lee Harpham matched results and beat him by 0.061 of a second in qualifying.

But Edwards’ fortunes improved in the British Superkart GP race, as he got stuck into a three-wide battle for the lead.

The race reached its climax at the final corner when Harpham and Matt Isherwood, the other two racers in the fight for first, collided at the final corner, resulting in Edwards snatching victory by 0.049s.

To make victory sweeter, Edwards also broke the lap record.
