Cheshire FA hosts its annual awards this weekend to recognise and honour the county's grassroots football champions.

Among the winners are The King's School in Chester, who will be presented with the education sector pitch of the year prize.

The 16 awards winners will be presented with their certificates at Carden Park on Friday evening.

Simon Gerrard, chief executive of Cheshire FA, said: "It's with great pleasure that we announce these awards winners. This is a fantastic chance for us to recognise those volunteers, coaches, clubs and leagues that sacrifice so much on a weekly basis and say thank you to them for their hard work and dedication in enhancing the standards of grassroots football in Cheshire.

"Football is constantly evolving and we are delighted to have a variety of award winners this year that have shown best practice in areas that we believe are going to have a key impact on grassroots football in the coming years."

Eleven new awards have been introduced this year with categories including groundsmanship and social media.

Nominations were determined through a mixture of public nominations as well as internal nominations with contributions from district FAs and leagues.

Judging panels in each category were made up of Cheshire FA representatives and previous winners.
