Lee Constantine, Dominic Kennedy and Darragh O’Callaghan netted to give Deva Athletic a 3-1 win over Lodge Bar in the Tom Gerraghty Memorial Trophy with Tom Mackerel replying.
Newton Athletic beat Hoole Youth 12-0 with Dan Christian scoring four and Lewis Davenport getting three. Niall Moorefield, Liam Bradley, Adam Pownall, Chris Noden and Steve Newton chipped in too.
Ryan Chatburn’s goal was little consolation as MBNA lost 4-1 at home to Ashton, Blacon Thistle had Lee King McGee to thank for a 1-0 success at Higher Bebington Kelma, and Andrew Bolton’s hat-trick helped Birkenhead Town ease past Whitby Athletic 7-0 in the League Cup.
In the Cayzer Shield, Woodchurch Athletic Reserves edged New Ferry Rangers 3-2 thanks to Mark Roberts and two-goal Lee Dermody. Luke Cassidy and Reece Orton replied.
Lache closed the gap on Birkenhead Town at the top of the Chester & Wirral League Premier Division with a 5-0 win over Christleton Celtic through Sam Buckley, Warren Kelly, Liam McGovern, Tommy Booth and Tom Bailey, Ellesmere Port remain fourth after a 6-0 win over Uberlube thanks to Nicky Monaghan (2), Peter Barnett, Cameron Forster (2) and an own goal, and Ellesmere Port Town Reserves moved off the bottom with Aaron Ceplis securing them a 1-0 win against Kelsall.
Niall Peaker and Mike Taylor earned Cestrian Alex a 2-0 success at home to Neston Town in Division One, while braces for Joey Waters and Danny McGloughlin and Mikey Edwards helped Lodge Bar Reserves beat Neston Nomads Reserves 5-2.
Division Two leaders Clubbies drew 2-2 with second-placed Samba. Si Whelan and Christian Gray were on target for Samba, with Matthew Roberts and James Simpson scoring for the table-toppers.
Kingsley Barlow earned Crossway a 1-0 win over Orange Athletic, Rob Greenaway netted as Ellesmere Port Town Reserves lost 4-1 at home to Eastham Athletic and Hoole Rangers drew 5-5 with Elton Rigger in a 10-goal thriller. Ash English (2), Johnny Clark (2) and Liam Gough bagged for Hoole with replies from Luke Martin, Wayne Clark, Sean Clare and Billy Sammut (2).
In the Vets Division, two rare Mark Worth goals helped Blacon Youth to an 8-2 win at Tarvin. Scott Broadbent 2, Dave Cooke, Lee McElmeel, Peter Hughes and Jamie Barlow got the others.
Chester & District Sunday League
Two goals in each half gave AFC Bears Paw a 4-0 win over Chester Rileys in the second round of the League Cup. Braces from Tommy Harries and Aaron Hinchcliffe wrapped up the victory.
Vicars Cross Dynamos edged out Tarvin Rex 2-1, coming from behind after Adam Crimes opened the scoring. Todd Reid levelled before the break and then got a second-half winner.
In the Bill Gresty Memorial Trophy quarter-finals, goals from Lennox Beddows (2) and John Farrell earned The Mount a 3-1 verdict at home to Waverton, whose response came from Lee Neugebauer.
New-look Highfield Horses recorded a valuable win in Section A, beating hosts Custom House 7-1. An own goal put Horses behind but Craig Hughes and doubles from Russ Dean, Neil Fields and Jack Hart sealed the points for the Blacon outfit.
Axis United suffered a 6-3 defeat at home to FC Hickory's who netted via Nathan Collins (2), Sam Carr, Jonny Lawrence, Ben Stern and an own goal. Terry Roley and two-goal Mark Francis bagged for Axis.
AFC Saltney thrashed Dee Rangers 14-0 with Liam McGovern helping himself to seven goals. Hat-tricks for Tom Bailey and Warren Kelly, and a single Mark Richards strike completed the rout.
Colin Mutete claimed a hat-trick as he inspired AFC Tattenhall to a 3-0 win at Spital Vaults in Section B despite the visitors starting the game with 10 men.
West Cheshire League
Upton AA ran out 3-1 winners over visiting West Kirby & Wasps in Division One with efforts from Steve Rowlands, James Pierce and Luke Finch cancelling out Steve Aspinall’s response.
In Division Three, Chester Nomads Reserves breezed past Ford Motors 4-0 with Charlie Mann (2), Simon Andrews and Jack Delgado the men on target.
