Blacon Youth Vets, who were confirmed as Vets Division champions a few days earlier, completed a league and cup double in an end-to-end game with Andy Bale’s header and two goals from Chris Riley earning them a 3-1 win.

Chester Nomads retain Chester & District FA Senior Cup

Chester Nomads rounded off an excellent campaign with a 1-0 victory against Upton AA in the Chester & District FA Senior Cup final at Chester FC’s Lookers Vauxhall Stadium.

The clubs finished second and fifth respectively in West Cheshire League Division One and contested the final for the second season running.

Last term’s meeting went to penalties and there was nothing between the sides this time around until the 80th when Barbados internatonal Louis Moss fired in what proved to be the winner from a free-kick to ensure John Cadwallader’s side retained the trophy.
