James McMahon was a gold medal winner at the Cheshire Junior Multi-Events Championships.

The West Cheshire AC all-rounder won the under 17 men’s title at Macclesfield. He finished with 2,496 points after clocking 15.7 seconds in the 100m hurdles, 9.96m in the shot, long jumping 6.06m, high jumping 1.69m and rounding the 800m in 2:33.5.

West Cheshire AC trio Tamsin O’Keefe, Abigail Pawlett and Anna Crayston combined to win the U11 girls team title.

O’Keefe won the individual competition with 14.8 seconds in the 100m, 2:41.6 in the 800m, 4.15m in the long jump and 14.75m in the javelin.

Pawlett finished third with 14.3 in the 100m, 3.76m in the long jump and 13.60m in the javelin, while Crayston finished fourth with 2:51.1 in the 800m, 3.62m in the long jump and 10.16m in the javelin.

Dylan Bugg posted 15.6 in the 100m, 2:58.4 in the 800m, 3.16m in the long jump and 12.46m in the javelin for third position in the U11 boys competition.

Jac Goodall finished fourth in the U13 boys triathlon with 192 points, in front of Will Scott (sixth with 186) and Alex Mason (12th with 116).

Sophie Hemingbrough posted fourth in the U15 girls pentathlon with 1,185 points and Abbie Williams finished fifth with 1,042 points.

Olivia Montez-Brown finished fifth in the English Schools Combined Events Senior Girls Heptathlon Championships at Birmingham’s Alexander Stadium.

The West Cheshire AC all-rounder represented Cheshire and scored 4,365 points in the event, which attracted 31 competitors.

Olivia posted 15.57 seconds in her 100m hurdles, cleared 1.49m in the high jump, hit 9.66m in the shot, posted 26.46 seconds in the 200m, long jumped 5.37m, launched the javelin 26.31m and did the 800m in 2:33.24.

Tamsin O’Keefe grabbed two victories at the Blackpool Open Medal Track and Field Meeting.

The West Cheshire AC junior won the long jump with 4.11m and posted a winning 600m time of 1:52:90.

Sisters Maisie and Evie Tipping were also in action for West Cheshire AC at the fixture. Evie finished 13th in the 600m with a personal best of 2:12:30 and clocked 13.3 in her 80m.

Maisie equalled her 100m best of 14.2 seconds for eighth spot, clocked 29.5 in her 200m for fifth place, and was fourth in the long jump with 4.17m, missing third spot by 1cm.

Andrew Clague was West Cheshire AC’s first finisher at the penultimate round of the Wirral Multi-Terrain Race Series staged at Harrison Drive, Wallasey.

Clague covered the 4.4-mile course in 26:32 for 30th spot, beating Steve Hillier (58th in 28:17), Dave Hough (90th in 31:08), Tony Kennedy (107th in 32:25), Clive Giddis (127th in 33:33), Brian Beattie (135th in 37:44) and Ian Cook (141st in 39:30).

Andy Starkey finished fourth in the over-50 men’s age group with a time of one hour 21 minutes 51 seconds at the Great North Run.

He was joined at the event by other West Cheshire AC members Lisa Davies (1:42:27), Tony Hill (2:15:07), and former Whitby Heath AC member Mark Davies (2:05:56).
