With the festive season just around the corner, CH1ChesterBID has announced a spectacular Christmas giveaway where the public can get their hands thousands of pounds worth of free gifts from independent businesses across the city centre.
The city’s Business Improvement District (BID) company is aiming to spread some extra Christmas cheer this year with its ‘Big Christmas Giveaway’ competition, where a wide range of prizes are up for grabs between December 1 – 22.
They include an Elemis spa package from The Grosvenor Hotel, a solid silver money clip from Lowe & Sons, a three-course lunch for two at award-winning restaurant The Chef’s Table and a stunning Clogau Nutcracker ‘Snowflake’ Necklace from Rigby’s Jewellers.
A bumper-sized family hamper worth £2,000 will also be given away as the final prize on December 22, which includes an Xbox One X, a HP laptop, Thomas Sabo His and Hers Watches, a Dolce & Gabbana beauty box, and a selection children’s books among other gifts.
The vast majority of gifts have been sourced from independent businesses within CH1ChesterBID’s designated BID area – which includes more than 500 city centre businesses – to help drive greater awareness of small and independent traders over the festive season.
“Christmas truly is the most wonderful time of the year in Chester and we’re incredibly excited for our Big Christmas Giveaway campaign to get underway,” said Judy Tagell, Marketing Manager at CH1ChesterBID.
“We’ve worked with lots of independent retailers, hotels, bars and restaurants in the city centre to create a fantastic list of prizes that will make Christmas extra special for 22 lucky winners this year.
“This campaign is all about putting our small and independent businesses in the spotlight at one of the busiest times of the year in the city centre. We’re lucky to have such a diverse mix of businesses in Chester and we want to make more people aware of the hidden gems right here in the heart of the city.
“The competition is completely free for people to enter so we really hope everyone takes the chance to get involved and join in with some festive fun.”
