Karl Noon has agreed to stay with Vauxhall Motors.

The striker, now in his second spell with the club, has followed a host of team-mates by committing to the Rivacre Park outfit.

Noon rejoined Vauxhall in February from Warrington Town and enjoyed a good finish to the campaign, making 13 appearances and scoring one goal.

Noon was with Liverpool as a youngster and went on to play for Prescot Cables, Southport, Bangor City, Marine and Colwyn Bay before joining Motors in 2008. He had two successful years in his first spell at Rivacre Park, which led to international recognition as he was called up for the England C squad, before rejoining Colwyn Bay in 2010.

Motors picked up a draw and a win from their first two pre-season fixtures.

A header from skipper Tom Hannigan gave them a 1-1 draw in last Tuesday’s 1-1 draw at Bootle.

The Motormen then travelled to Burscough on Saturday and claimed a 1-0 success.

Nine substitutions were made by Carl Macauley at half-time and it did not take long for the changes to pay dividends as Motors netted the winner early in the second half.

Vauxhall, who hosted AFC Fylde last night after the Pioneer had gone to press, visit Cammell Laird on Saturday (3pm) before hosting Bala Town next Tuesday (7.30pm).
