HALTON and Weaver Vale’s election candidates are facing a grilling from entrepreneurs based in the constituencies.

The election special networking event, organised by Halton Chamber of Commerce, will take place on Tuesday, two days before voters go to the polls.

Labour, Conservative and Lib Dem candidates for both seats will share a platform to face questions.

A Halton Chamber spokeswoman said other parties’ candidates are permitted to have a ‘presence’.

Anyone in business in the two constituencies can attend.

Advance questions can be posted on the chamber website.

Eric Hudson, Halton Chamber executive vice chairman, said: “The economy is one of the key topics dominating this election.

“We want whoever is selected to represent this area in Parliament to understand the worries and concerns of the business community so they can help to make a difference when they get to Westminster.”
