A celebrity hunter welcomed a world famous magician into his Chester vintage toy store.

Illusionist Dynamo, (real name Steven Frayne) a Bradford born magician who has his own television show ‘Magician Impossible’ popped into Central City – a toy collectors and memorabilia store on Watergate Street, Chester.

Jason Thanos, 40, proprietor of Central City who used to stalk celebrities around the world for a living was ecstatic to welcome “one of the most amazing and talented human beings” into his shop.

The magician who suffered a debilitating form of Crohn's disease as a youngster was introduced to magic by his Grandad and developed his skills as a means to fend off the bullies who teased him about his disease.

Mr Thanos said Dynamo was shopping with a few friends in Chester on Friday when he visited his vintage toy collection store which opened in August this year.

He said: “Dynamo is one of the nicest and down to earth celebrities I have ever met, and I have met a lot in my time.

“I don’t think there are many celebrities I haven’t met.

“He was very accommodating and even signed me some playing cards for the shop, he was very nice.

“He said he is a big fan of superheroes and Back to the Future so he bought one of our Iron Man collectors edition book and a t-shirt.

“He also got one of our high end collection figures which are extremely rare. People usually put them in a cabinet to look at and enjoy, they aren’t for playing with.”

The celebrity super fan said Dynamo invited Mr Thanos and his family to his live show on in Manchester last Friday after spending some time in his shop.

He added: “It was incredible. We went to meet him after the show – he is a real gent and promised he would come and visit the shop again very soon.”

Mr Thanos who first started collecting autographs in 2000 has sat outside film premiers days before they are hosted to get celebrities to write their name on a piece of paper.

But he claims it is all worth it after one autograph can sell for thousands of pounds.

He added: “I still do a few premiers every now and again for clients who want autographs for memorabilia."

Mr Thanos who has sold hundreds of signed memorabilia in the past opened his shop four months ago.

He said: “We sell 15 years of chasing memorabilia in our shop.

“We bring something special to Chester, it’s not the usual rubbish you get from toy stores today."
