A tattoo artist based in Ellesmere Port could be in the running to be the next 007 - if Twitter has anything to do with it.
Despite actor Tom Hiddleston being the bookies' clear favourite to become the next James Bond, Jay Hutton, the Ellesmere Port star of E4's Tattoo Fixers, is also in for a shout, according to fans on the social media site.
They believe he is more than qualified for the big screen hearthrob role now Chester-born Daniel Craig has announced he's stepping down.
Like his secret agent predecessor, the bearded 26-year-old has won a legion of female admirers with his handsome looks and piercing blue eyes.
He's so popular that he has led fans to start a #jayforbond campaign on Twitter, mocking up photos of the tattooist to show what he’d look like as a tuxedo-wearing gun-toting spy.
Jay, who runs Adrenaline Tattoo Studio in Ellesmere Port, has become a huge hit with women fans of the E4 series since it launched in spring last year.
Although he’s more likely to be found with a tattoo gun in his hand, instead of 007’s signature Walther PPK pistol, that hasn’t stopped the lobby gaining social media support with hundreds of fans believing the time is right for a tattooed Bond.
The man himself has also got in on the act, tweeting out the photos, although he’s obviously not taking the job application too seriously.
Posting one photo of himself in black bow tie with a pistol poised, he commented ‘keep seeing these. LOL, quality’ although when he was quizzed over whether he’d do it if asked, he replied: ‘of course.’
