Coronation Street bosses are looking to hire new 'storyliners' to come up with engaging storylines on the long-running ITV soap.
If you think you know everything there is to know about the show and could come up with the next big, gripping plot then Corrie bosses want to hear from you.
Bosses are appealing for would-be writers to take part in a 'Storyliner workshop' for the world's longest-running soap, as advertised on the ITV Careers website.
You aren't guaranteed job at the end of it - but if you prove to be a success at the workshop it puts you in a prime position to be taken on by the soap, according to the MEN.
The advert says: “How would you like to work in the engine room of the world’s longest-running continuing drama?
“Coronation Street is always on the lookout for storyliners to join its talent pool and we are holding a workshop hosted by Alasdair Morrison - Story Producer and Lyndsay Williams - Story Editor for a chance for you to show us you should be the next Storyliner in our talented team.”
It explains that storyliners are tasked with contributing ideas at story conferences and devise 'engaging, compelling, detailed episodic storylines to an agreed vision'.
They must take notes from the producer, redraft storylines, as well as assisting the writers, script editors and production team on the show.
Excellent writing skills are, naturally, a must - as is a keen eye for detail and proven experience in an editorial role in a drama department.
The advert adds: “You will need to have a keen passion for Corrie, a flair for creative writing and love working in a tight knit team, then come to our workshop and join our talent pool now!”
The closing date for applications is February 6, and successful candidates will be invited to attend the workshop on February 26 at Coronation Street’s studios on Trafford Wharf Road in Manchester.
Applicants are asked to note “this is not an open vacancy you will only be contacted should a role become live that we would like to speak to you about, these are likely to be short term FTC or Freelance opportunities.”
Still, worth a shot if you fit all the above criteria...
