A superstore has worked fundraising magic for a children’s hospice.

Claire House Children’s Hospice used the word to describe their charity partnership with Sainsbury’s Ellesmere Port.

To say ‘thank you’ for the store’s ‘amazing’ fundraising support this year and to launch its renewed charity partnership for 2015/16, the hospice invited Mr Trix the Magic Clown to entertain customers and staff.

The partnership has brought in £11,462.57 for Claire House through 12 months of fundraising activity by the store’s staff and customers.

In addition to bucket collections, fundraising activities have included the Claire House Golf Day 2015, in association with Bromborough Golf Club and a fashion show in association with West Cheshire College.

Nick Hughes of Sainsbury’s said: “A massive thank you to all our customers and colleagues who’ve helped us raise this fantastic amount.

“Having been to Claire House and seen the work that goes on there, it is clear that the care, support and choice they provide is invaluable.

“I’m even more delighted that Sainsbury’s Ellesmere Port customers and colleagues have chosen Claire House as their charity partner for a second year”.

Area fundraiser Claire Farrow said “We are immensely grateful to Sainsbury’s Ellesmere Port.

“It is partnerships like this that help more children and families than ever to benefit from Claire House’s respite and end of life care.”
