A businesswoman from Ellesmere Port is taking on the challenge of a lifetime.

Ronda Critchley from Whitby will be taking part in a 500km London to Paris cycle ride setting off for the four day challenge from Greenwich Park on Thursday (September 17) at 7am.

The 45-year-old mum of two boys was inspired by her husband Alan who cycled from Lands End to John O’ Groats in just seven days raising a massive £36,000 for their chosen charity Blood Wise, formerly Leukaemia & Lymphoma.

The charity is close to both their hearts as Ronda’s mum has recently been diagnosed with leukaemia and her best friend’s father-in-law has lymphoma.

Ronda, who runs a wedding and events company, Covers and Bows, said: “I’ll be riding as part of a peleton with time trials and timed hill climbs thrown in and going by recent weather updates the back end of Hurricane Henri!

“I’ve had to train during my busiest time of the year and it has been hard to fit it in with looking after my family.”

Ronda is hoping to raise £2,000 for Bloodwise. If you would like to support her you can donate here.
