TWO people had a lucky escape when a large tree fell on to the bonnet of their car as they drove through Frodsham.
Police were called to Manley Road at about 1.30pm on Monday (September 16) and had to close the road in order to lift off the tree.
DC Dave Walton from Cheshire police said the pair, who were uninjured, had a miraculous escape.
“These people were very, very lucky because it was a huge tree - another second and both would have been crushed. Luckily neither was harmed.”
Eyewitness Ian Hobson added: “It was a surprising sight, the weather was windy but not overly so. I would have thought that anyone inside the car would most certainly have been crushed.”
