Children at Eccleston CE Primary School have a new place to learn.

Pupils, staff and governors were delighted to welcome Andrew Clowes, chairman of trustees of the Anne Duchess of Westminster charity, to open a brand new classroom.

Work began early on in the summer holidays to convert the old library at the village school into a brand new teaching space for 16 of the oldest children in school.

Creation of the new classroom was made possible by a large donation from the Anne Duchess of Westminster charity supported by generous contributions from the Eccleston School Parents Group and Lady Wilson, a former chairman of governors of the old Pulford School.

Headteacher Katie Wilkes said: “I am thrilled at the transformation that has taken place with our old library space.”
