Students from Neston High School took a trip to the Vue Cinema at Cheshire Oaks to claim victory over six competitor schools.

Students entered the Educational Film Competition, which consisted of writing a short script, directing a film, and starring in the film, all with the aim of educating students on what life at secondary school is like.

Two of the Neston groups made it through to the final with two equally impressive short films. Students watched ten films in total before the viewing of Neston’s take on secondary school.

The introduction of the two films received a roar of applause and captured the attention of the audience immediately.

Head judge Russell Smith announced the overall winner as Neston High School.

A further prize was awarded to Neston High: Film Festival Best Actor 2013.

Judges were impressed with the portrayal of the ‘typical high school nerd’.
