Choose one of the new '60' and '60D' Tesla Model S derivatives and you could drive from all the way from London to Paris on one charge of electric power.

With the entry-level 60’s standard 60kWh battery pack, your single-charge range is 248 miles, or 253 miles in the AWD version, but upgrade to the 75kWh battery pack and the range increases by 50 and 51 miles respectively – enough to do the 300-mile trip from one Euro capital to another.

And you’ll be able to do it in some degree of relaxation too as Autopilot software is standard equipment on the new models as it is with all Tesla cars.

Tesla’s recent Model S facelifted took away the redundant front grille to align it more closely to the Model X SUV. Buyers can select from two new interior decor choices – Figured Ash Wood or Dark Ash Wood.

The S also inherited the Model X’s superior air filtration system, claimed by Tesla to be 100 times more effective than other premium systems. Its HEPA filter can remove 99.97% of particulate exhaust pollution and nearly all allergens, bacteria and contaminants.

Although the drivetrain for the Model S is the same as before, its standard charger has been upgraded by 20% for faster ‘refills’ from higher-amperage chargers.

The 0-60mph times for the 60 and 60D are 5.5sec and 5.2sec, while the top speed for both cars is 130mph, or 140mph with the 75kWh battery pack.

The new entry-level Tesla Model S is priced at £53,400 for the rear-wheel drive version and £57,800 in all-wheel-drive 60D format.
