Memories of Chester's Garden Quarter

Exhibition to explore area's past

Chichester Street/Bouverie Street, Chester in March 1964

For five months, Chester History & Heritage Centre will be running a special exhibition focusing solely on the Garden Quarter.

Spotlight on the Garden Quarter looks at the vibrant Chester community surrounding St. Thomas’s Church in Parkgate Road, Cheyney Road, Stadium Way, Sealand Road, Bouverie Street and Cambrian View, as well as Garden Lane and Old Port Square.

The exhibition will run from Monday, July 11, through to Friday, December 16, and to complement it, there will be a ‘Garden Quarter Guided Walk’ with popular local guide Gerry Tighe on Wednesday, September 14, from 1.30-3pm.

It costs £5 and starts at Chester Town Hall. Places are limited so book at Chester History & Heritage either in person or by telephoning 01244 972210.
