A MARATHON Zumba session in Ellesmere Port will raise cash for Sport Relief.

Brio Leisure is hosting two days of charity fundraising events at Stanney Oaks Leisure Centre this weekend, in aid of this year's campaign.

On Saturday, the centre will host a two-hour Zumba session and on Sunday, the Sport Relief mile will be held on the venue's all-weather track.

Entrants do not need to be dancers or athletes to take part.

Jon Kelly, Brio Leisure facility manager, said: “This is the first Zumbathon at Stanney Oaks Leisure Centre and its set to be a great event with lots of goodies to be had on the day.”

West Cheshire athletics club is organising the mile fund raiser. To register visit www.sportrelief.com. Entrants can run, walk or skip around the course.

All the the money raised from the events will go towards those in need across the UK and in some of the world’s poorest countries.

West Cheshire athletics club's Dennis Wall said the event was suitable for all ages, regardless of fitness level.

“From teeny-tots with their mums and dads, to super sprinters up against the clock, there’s something for everyone on the big day,” he added.

To enter the Zumba event, from 2.30-4.30pm, call 0151 355 5519 or turn up on the day. Sunday's Sport Relief Mile starts at 9.30am and is open until 3pm.
