KIND-HEARTED pupils have been doing their bit to help the UK’s war heroes.

Llangollen’s Ysgol Dinas Bran’s sixth-form charity group raised more than £900 by selling roses and encouraging their teachers to dress in drag for an usual rendition of Blind Date.

The cash has been handed to charity Help for Heroes, which does work for soldiers and other servicemen and women both directly and through its support of other service charities.

Sixth-former Joshua Gaskell said: “I can only hope that by raising what funds we could we have been able to show our gratitude to these guardians of Britain.”
