A SPECIAL Constable was attacked and wounded while off duty.
The 38-year-old part-time officer suffered a puncture wound to his back during the incident at about
8.30pm on Wednesday, January 25.
The attack happened opposite the Late Shop on High Street in Johnstown after some form of interaction with a group of youths. The officer was taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital and later discharged.
Detectives are investigating the incident and appeal for witnesses or anyone with information about youths who habitually hang around
in the area.
'We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area between 8.30pm and 9pm on Wednesday,' said DI Neill Anderson.
'Also we want to hear from residents who may have information about young people who congregate
in the area, particularly around the bus stop.
