A TEENAGER was ordered to pay compensation to a police officer injured in a scuffle.
The 17-year-old, of Weaverham, who cannot be named, admitted a charge of resisting arrest at Vale Royal Youth Court on Wednesday.
The officer was injured as he tried to handcuff the defendant, who was shouting and swearing at police while drunk, on February 22.
Derek MacDonald, defending, said: “He’s learnt his lesson the hard way and he’s sorry.”
The youth received a four-month referral order and will pay £50 compensation and £43 costs.
