A CYCLIST from Neston was punched to the floor after approaching of group of youths for throwing water bombs at his family when they rode past.

The 34-year-old man was riding along Bendee Road, Neston, with his family when the youths threw the water bombs at about 7pm on May 15.

He challenged the group about their behaviour when one of the boys grabbed his arm and punched him to the side of the head, before punching him again and causing the man to fall to the floor.

“The group of youths then made off up Bendee Road and on to Dunraven Road,” said Cheshire police spokesman Jason Murray.

“As a result of the incident the man suffered swelling and soreness to his face.

“The group was made up of four male and two female youths, and the offender was a white male youth, aged about 15, of thin build, with a thin face with short dark hair.

“One of the other males was a white male, wearing a blue hoodie.”
