THREE Chester women who work tirelessly to help out their local hospice have won a Your Champions accolade.
The members of the Hospice of the Good Shepherd’s in-house support group, chairwoman Margaret Teasdale, Gladys Gromfield and Sue Monkman, have been giving the community a boost with their range of charitable acts from their base in Gordon Lane, Backford.
Anne Houghton, of Ellesmere Port, who nominated the trio, gave details of why the support group deserved recognition.
She said: “They work so hard fundraising in the community with boat trips, hotpot suppers, quiz nights and more, single-handedly.
“They also volunteer each Wednesday and take the day patients on outings, providing refreshments and transport using their own money.”
