Your Champions: Chester school - Upton High

A CHESTER school which has been working on a global scale has won a Your Champions award.

Upton-by-Chester High School earned the Department for Children, Schools and Families’ (DCSF) International Schools Award in recognition of it bringing the wider world into the classroom.

These efforts have helped secure the school a place in the Trinity Mirror/ScottishPower Your Champions 2009 awards.

Headteacher Jane Holland said: “This is excellent news for the school, which is committed to developing friendship and understanding across all cultures. It recognises the work of students, staff and the local community in promoting global citizenship.”
