A WORRIED dad is warning about the dangers of discarded syringes after his young daughter was accidentally cut by one while playing.

Ten-year-old Drew Gratrix, who lives with her mum Donna in Ecclestone Avenue, was playing near her home when one of her friends found the syringe.

It accidentally slipped out of her friend's hands and gave Drew a small cut on her chest.

She was rushed to the Countess of Chester Hospital and vaccinated against Hepatitis B but given the all-clear.

If you find a syringe ring environmental health on (0151) 356 6740, 356 6741 or 356 6742.
