X-FACTOR heart throb Shayne Ward will be at Cheshire Oaks on Friday to switch on the lights of Britain’s biggest Christmas tree.

The 2005 winner will perform a selection of songs at the outlet village before the switch-on at 6.30pm.

The festivities start an hour before with entertainment from boyband Avenue and 2008 X Factor contestants Laura White and Scott Bruton.

The 90-foot tree will be decorated with 100,000 lights and 80,000 baubles.

Colin Wilding, general manager of Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet, said: “The launch night is going to be spectacular and we’re expecting big crowds to be here.

“The tree is a huge, dazzling structure that is guaranteed to get shoppers in the Christmas mood and with Shayne there to entertain the crowds it’ll be a great way to kick off the count down to Christmas.”
