FIRST time house buyers struggling to get on the property ladder can get invaluable advice at a new event.

The first time buyers’ fair is being held at Glyndr University’s conference centre on Saturday.

It aims to bring prospective home buyers together with estate agents, house builders, housing associations, surveyors, solicitors and mortgage advisors.

It is being held by Wrexham County Borough Council in association with First House Network and will run from 11am to 2.30pm.

Local and national companies will be on hand with exhibits to offer advice and information.

There will also be a series of impartial seminars running throughout the event covering a variety of subjects on buying houses.

In February, it was revealed first-time home loans had fallen to their lowest levels since 1974 levels.

Council leader Aled Roberts, said: “In the current economic climate, first time buyers may struggle because of a lack of support or a feeling of isolation.

“It is becoming increasingly hard to get onto the property ladder and to secure a mortgage and people need all the help they can get

“The First Time Buyers Event is a great way to get the right advice and guidance from the people in the housing business. Local mortgage advisers will be on hand to tell you about schemes to help secure a mortgage while solicitors will be able to offer any legal advice.”
